Indrayani River Will Be Clean in 2-3 Years, Says Minister Uday Samant
Pune : The Maharashtra government is planning a big clean-up project for the Indrayani River, and it should be ready in two to three years. Industries Minister Uday Samant shared this update during his visit to Pimpri on Thursday.
The pollution in the Indrayani and Pavana rivers has been a big concern, and it’s been highlighted many times in the media. Taking this seriously, the state government has decided to act. Minister Samant said that the project report is almost done and the government is fully supporting the plan. “This is not a quick fix that’ll be done in six months,” he said. “But we’re confident that within two to three years, the river will be clean.”
Maharashtra Still Getting Big Investments
There were talks that some big industrial projects are moving to other states. But Minister Samant said that’s not true. He mentioned that investments worth ₹15.7 lakh crore have come into Maharashtra, including big companies like Hyundai, ice cream brands, and data centres.
“Work has already started on 72% of these projects,” he said. “Even if one project goes away, we’ll bring in bigger ones. People shouldn’t spread confusion about this. Investors are still confident about Maharashtra.”
Quick Justice Promised in Chakan Case
Minister Samant also spoke about the recent crime in the Chakan MIDC area, calling it very unfortunate. He said, “Such horrible acts won’t be tolerated. The police have arrested the accused, and now our job is to make sure he gets strict punishment. We’ll take this case to a fast-track court so justice is delivered quickly.”
Shiv Sena Will Get Strong Wards for Civic Polls : Uday Samant
Shiv Sena will make sure it gets strong and favorable wards for the upcoming Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections. Industries Minister and Shiv Sena’s contact leader Uday Samant said he will speak to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar about it. He added that only candidates with real strength in their area will get the chance to contest.
Speaking at a party review meeting in Kasarwadi on Thursday, Samant also hinted that the Mahayuti alliance (BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP) will fight the PCMC elections together. The meeting was held to review Shiv Sena’s membership drive in Pimpri Chinchwad and Maval.
Focus on Growing the Party
“We need to strengthen the party in Pimpri Chinchwad,” Samant said. “For that, we must increase membership. No one should think ‘the party exists because of me.’ It’s the other way around—the party gives us identity. So let’s work for the party with loyalty.”
He urged workers to go door-to-door and register new members. “Just 10 minutes of party work every day can make a big difference,” he added. “Shiv Sena is one family, and Eknath Shinde is our family head. We all should feel proud to do something for this family.”
No Unfairness in Post Allotment
Talking about appointments to government committees and other positions, Samant assured party workers that there will be no unfair treatment.“Shiv Sena will get its fair share of posts. But after getting a position, leaders should help others grow too. Don’t just think about yourself. Help others become future leaders too,” he told them.
